Zrinka Šimičić Mihanović
Zrinka Simicic Mihanovic (MA, RSME, IDME, SMA-SP) is a dance artist, Registered Somatic Movement Educator, Infant Developmental Movement Educator, Certified Movement Analyst – Somatic Practitioner. She finished the Laban/Bartenieff & Somatic Studies International, certified program in Laban Movement Analysis in 2017 as well as the Somatic Movement Education Program in France (2015) and Infant Developmental Movement Education Program in Italy (2008), both certified programs of the School for Body-Mind Centering ®. She studied Dance Movement Psychotherapy Education in Zagreb from 2010 till 2012. She obtained her M.A. degree in History of Art and French Language and Literature at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2004. Zrinka has been active as an author and choreographer since 2003, and has collaborated with a number of Croatian as well as foreign authors. Her choreographic work has been marked with collaborations with artists from different media, particularly visual arts. Since 2007 she has been artistic co-director of Improspekcije/Improspections, an international improvisation festival in Zagreb, she initiated SomaHut platform and co-founded Multimedijalna koliba/Multimedia Hut organization. Since 2018 she is a faculty member of the Dance department of the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb and she also teaches in the Postgraduate Specialist Study of Creative Therapies programme of The Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek as well as in other non-institutional contexts. She is a professional member of International Somatic Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA).
