IMPROSPECTIONS2014

With the eighth edition of Improspections we continued to deal with improvisation and its faces, this time not only within the context of performance but also on the broader field of art practice. We are interested in what degree improvisation is an integral part, perhaps an elementary part of the creative act. We invited artists from different media – dance, theatre, music, film, installation, graphic recording – to think through their own practise about improvisation, or through improvisation think of their own practice. In this way, instead of focusing on individual works, we have put in the first place the processes that created them, but don’t stop in them, but rather are fertilised by them and from them can continue. The artists who showed their works and shared their own experience of improvisation within their own artistic process include: Julyen Hamilton, Johanna Benz, Pavle Heidler, Ilse Ghekiere and the Tras association, Nives Sertić, Roko Crnić, Marina Petković Liker, Silvia Marchig and Sabina Mikelić, Marjana Krajač, Sonja Pregrad, Zrinka Šimičić Mihanović, Zrinka Užbinec, Ana Kreitmayer and others.
