The work Disappearances is based on the somatic experience of the performer, as well as of the viewers. We are interested in the individual and the personal that emerges from the general and universal. We start from one, the first cell we were created from, both as individuals and as a species and, travelling the depths of various structures and processes that make us what we are, we create dance.

The concept author, Zrinka Šimičić Mihanović, has been studying and researching the somatic movement for the last fifteen years, primarily through the Body-Mind Centering® approach, as well as through other somatic approaches and practices. Her author work has been inspired by somatic experience for a number of years, but in Disappearances it becomes a starting point for the first time, a method, and in a certain way the topic of the work.

The project was co-produced by Multimedia Hut and Zrinka Šimičić Mihanović, with the support of the City of Zagreb and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.
