10th internationalimprovisation festival

During the last decade, we have developed Improspections through a constant listening to movement and needs, primarily in contemporary dance, but also in the independent performance scene; open to various authors and poetry creators, while retaining the focus of improvisation in the breadth of its presence in various art practices. Consequently, each year we again overlook the format of events enveloped by the nameImprospections and constantly expand the circle of participants, associates and audiences. Improvisation, as we understand and endeavour to affirm it through Improspections, refers to a state of being and not to a form. A state that understands: openness to the moment, the acceptance of uncertainty as an indispensable part of the performance, inclusiveness, the search for non-hierarchical relations and communication between participants, various media, performers, and spectators.

The tenth edition of Improspections, usually working and occasionally intermittent, takes a look back – recalling the beginning of this initiative, a reunion with collaborators with whom we have jointly developed and a review of the journey we have made until now, but it also has a forward-looking perspective – towards new collaborations, partnerships and topics in the new decade that we are opening this festival in.
